Clarification on U.S. Phone Plan (Metered / Pay-as-you-go) for Use from the Philippines

I'm based in the Philippines and I need a U.S. phone number primarily to receive voicemails, SMS, and sometimes calls from the U.S. However, I also need the ability to make outbound calls and send SMS to the U.S.. Note that outbound calls to the US will be rare and usually short.

 

I'm considering the most basic plan ($10/month) since I don’t need unlimited calling. Would this plan cover my needs? Thanks!

Hello @kps1 . I am not sure you can do that from Philippines.

US has very strict rules for sending SMS; a Brand needs to be registered and there is a vetting process that includes Company Registration, Tax IDs, etc. I am not sure what exactly is your use case but here it is the SMS/MMS 10DLC Compliance information you need to follow to be able to add the Sending SMS capabilities to the US number you want to get; if need all that is needed, it is just a matter of following the instructions.
