Can I delete my Zoom Workplace Pro plan (go to basic/free) but still retain my Zoom phone unlimited calling plan?

Hello,

I only use my Zoom account for Zoom phone (Zoom phone unlimited calls account), and would like to stop paying the monthly fee for Zoom workplace pro.

Can I delete my Zoom Workplace Pro plan (go to basic/free) but still retain my Zoom phone unlimited calling plan? or must I retain the workplace pro plan to in order to access Zoom phone? If the former, how do I cancel my zoom workplace pro subscription? I have tried but the usual methods aren’t an option I am seeing.

Thank you

hi @Jordit13

I believe that you can delete the Zoom Workplace Pro plan and retain your Zoom Phone Unlimited calling Plan.  There are many users that have the Zoom Workplace basic and Zoom Phone Unlimited calling plan.  I suggest you call sales to make sure you keep your existing Zoom Phone number and Zoom Phone setup.  Zoom Phone requires at least Zoom Workplace basic.

As an alternative, you might want to consider Workplace Pro Plus Phone US & CA Unlimited.  You get everything in Zoom Workplace Pro plus Unlimited US & CA calling for $20.50 /user per month billed annually.  You could then delete your Zoom Phone Unlimited US & CA calling plan.  Again, I suggest that you call sales to make sure that you keep your existing Zoom Phone number and Zoom Phone setup.

Thank you very much for your reply. I'm in Australia, so I'm assuming that may change things? At the moment I have zoom unlimited calls Aus+NZ.

Hello,

As far as I understand, Zoom Phone is generally licensed separately from Zoom Workplace subscriptions. In many cases, users can downgrade from Zoom Workplace Pro to a Basic (free) account and continue using Zoom Phone, provided the Zoom Phone license remains active on the account.

However, eligibility can depend on how your account was originally purchased (directly through Zoom, through a reseller, or as part of a bundled plan). If the option to cancel Zoom Workplace Pro is not appearing in your Billing settings, it may indicate that your account has a bundle, contract, or administrative restriction.

I recommend checking Account Management > Billing to review your active subscriptions and confirm whether Zoom Phone is listed as a separate service. If the cancellation option is unavailable, contacting Zoom Billing Support directly would be the best way to verify whether you can retain your unlimited calling plan while removing the Workplace Pro subscription.

Hopefully a Zoom representative can confirm the exact requirements for your account type.

Thank you.
