zoomed in video

Zoom has started enlarging or zooming in the video and appears to randomly move about. Dual streamed, for a while now, via VMIX to a different output where things look completely different. The same video feed is supplying both outputs and have for the longest time been exactly the same. Now Zoom looks horrible, very close up and the motion seems weird and random. It almost looks like an AI is trying to focus on some preferred point.

This is new, and I don’t know what is causing it.

Hello @Coven Pilgrim,

Welcome to the Zoom Community! We’re glad to have you here!

The issue you're describing is likely caused by Zoom's "auto-framing" camera control mode. This feature automatically adjusts your camera view to keep you centered, which can result in the video appearing zoomed in and moving as if AI is focusing on a specific point. This behavior is unique to Zoom and does not affect other outputs like VMIX, even if they use the same video feed.

To resolve this, check your Zoom video settings and disable any auto-framing or smart video adjustment features. This should restore your video to its normal appearance.

Sorry I did not reply. The answer I guess is ok but it did not fix the problem as the system was not setup for auto framing. The problem seems to have corrected it self, but I believe it had something to do with the Blackmagic software controlling the camera, not zoom.
