Hello,

I tried running Zoom VDI and Zoom Client in Azure AVD and Mic works fine but no audio output from any tester or meeting. There is no audio settings to change because its just audio redirection. How can we troubleshoot this? I don’t have support, I would like to be able to join zoom meetings, but not having audio doesn’t work for me.

Hello @Matt Jurek,

If you’re experiencing no audio output in Zoom when using Zoom VDI and Zoom Client in Azure AVD, but your microphone works, here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

  1. Verify Audio Redirection in AVD:
  • Ensure that audio redirection is enabled in your Azure Virtual Desktop session. This is typically set in the AVD client settings before connecting to the session.
  1. Check Windows Sound Settings in the Virtual Desktop:
  • Inside your AVD session, right-click the sound icon in the system tray and select Open Sound settings.
  • Make sure the correct output device is selected (it should show your local device, redirected via RDP/AVD).
  • Test audio output in Windows (outside of Zoom) to confirm if sound works at the OS level.
  1. Zoom VDI Plugin Installation:
  • Confirm that the Zoom VDI plugin is installed on your local endpoint (the device you’re connecting from), not just in the virtual desktop. The plugin is required for proper audio/video redirection.
  • You can check plugin status in the Zoom client under Settings > Statistics > VDI tab.
  1. Zoom Audio Settings:
  • Even though you mentioned there are no audio settings, try opening Zoom and going to Settings > Audio to see if any output device is selectable.
  • Use the Test Speaker function if available.
  1. Update Zoom VDI Components:
  • Ensure both the Zoom VDI client in the virtual desktop and the Zoom VDI plugin on your endpoint are the same version and up to date. Mismatched versions can cause audio issues.
  1. Firewall and Group Policy:
  • Check if any firewall or group policy settings in your AVD environment are blocking audio redirection or Zoom traffic.
  1. Try a Different Endpoint:
  • If possible, connect to your AVD session from a different local device to rule out endpoint-specific issues.
  1. Review Zoom VDI Documentation:
