Zoom Summary is Greyed Out (box untickable)

Hi - for the first time ever, a summary of a meeting in my personal room is not accessible - even three hours later. I am logged in and identified via my organisation and obviously I am the host. Please advise.

Hello,

Please coordinate with your Zoom account administrator to have this option enabled. If the setting is not visible even under admin access, I recommend submitting a support ticket to our Zoom Support team as soon as possible for further assistance.

Thanks - all good. I believe the problem was caused by the AWS upset last week. The summaries were back and clickable within three working days.

While I realize the OP here said they were waiting 3 hours (which is quite long, indeed), I just want to share for others finding this thread that it may well just be a matter of waiting (perhaps many minutes).

I experienced the issue yesterday and today, The one yesterday did eventually come. I am hoping the same for today’s.

FWIW, I have previously gotten emailed about the summary within minutes of a meeting ending. Given that it’s an AI summary, perhaps something about Zoom’s AI integration is being throttled (or meetings for users on some plans).

Just sharing this for those who find the meeting summary not arriving timely, and who may like the OP find it listed in the Transcripts link in the dashboard but grayed out for selection. (They may, like me, have no “zoom account admin” to appeal to--or indeed ARE the admin--and I offer this to save you time of reaching out to and awaiting a reply from Zoom support, if it’s just a matter of our needing to be patient.)

I hope that if it becomes a frequent problem that they will notice it (happening across the board) and will address it from their end, in time. A boy can have dreams. :-)

First check whether AI Companion meeting summary is enabled for your account and whether your admin has changed any related permissions. Even as the host, the option can appear greyed out if the feature is disabled at the user or organisation level. Also try checking the meeting settings in the Zoom web portal (not just the desktop app) and confirm the meeting was recorded/transcribed if required. If everything looks enabled, it may be a temporary Zoom service issue.

@Henry-Collins Notice how I’d said I did get a summary (eventually) yesterday. This is not about any need of changing settings. (I get it, you were covering bases. Maybe someone “could” have changed things. As I’d also noted, I am the admin. No one else would have, in my case.)

And indeed, within minutes of writing my note, I got the summary for my session today. The very point of my note was to suggest for others your final point, that this could be a temporary Zoom issue. I just tried to offer a bit more explanation than leaving it at that. :-)
