Zoom suddenly changes to widescreen

I have a problem that the Zoom suddenly changes to widescreen since the last two weeks.

 

Several other users, including myself, are experiencing the same issue.

 

Temporarily, to solve the problem, uncheck the HD option in the video settings to restore the original ratio, but suddenly this happens again.

 

The same problem has been reported previously.

Regarding this issue, I would appreciate it if someone could tell me how to solve it.

      Still an issue in 2024. Zoom STOP forcing aspect change ratio!

        Same here. It's been almost 4 years in this thread, but if you google it, it's going back even further. If zoom was opensource I would just go in and fix it myself, can't be that complicated to honor the user's setting and stop from automatically switching the resolution, c'mon guys!

        Agreed, it's crazy this has been an issue so long. I couldn't get it to hold in 4:3 during an important meeting today and found this thread trying to find a fix. I guess Zoom has decided it's not a priority.
