Zoom screen sharing lagging on Windows 11 — anyone else facing this?
Hi everyone, I’ve been using Zoom regularly for meetings and online classes, and recently I’ve noticed that screen sharing has become really laggy on my Windows 11 laptop (Core i5 11th gen, 8GB RAM). The video freezes for others while my audio is still fine, especially when I’m sharing a browser or PowerPoint. My internet connection seems stable, so I’m not sure what’s causing it.
I also noticed something interesting — when I’m doing lighter tasks or even playing mobile games like Stick War: Legacy (a real-time strategy game where you control units, manage resources, and build armies), my system performs smoothly. I’ve even tried some custom versions and resources from stickwarmods, and the gameplay still runs without any lag. But as soon as I start screen sharing heavier apps like Chrome with multiple tabs or presentations, performance drops significantly. Since Stick War: Legacy involves real-time control but doesn’t cause lag, I’m guessing the issue might be related to how Zoom handles screen rendering or hardware acceleration rather than overall system performance.
Has anyone experienced something similar or found a fix for smoother screen sharing?
