Zoom Recording Not Capturing Spotlight View

Hi!

I am experiencing an issue with the Spotlight Video feature in my Zoom meetings. I have a paid Zoom account and I am using the desktop application (version 6.3.11) as the host.

The issue is that while I can successfully enable Spotlight during the meeting, the recording does not capture the Spotlight view. Instead, the recording seems to default to another view (e.g., Speaker View or Gallery View), even though Spotlight is applied.

I have already tried the following troubleshooting steps:
✔ Verified that I am the host.
✔ Used both local and cloud recording options.
✔ Checked Zoom Cloud Recording settings, ensuring that "Record active speaker with Spotlight" and other relevant options are enabled.
✔ Ensured that my Zoom app is updated to version 6.3.11.
✔ Kept the same active view while recording (without switching between views).

Despite these efforts, the recording does not reflect the Spotlighted participants as expected.

Could you please clarify:

  1. Why is my recording not capturing the Spotlight view?
  2. Are there any additional settings I need to adjust?
  3. Is this a known issue, and is there a workaround to ensure the recording follows the Spotlight selection?

Are you recording locally or to the cloud? 
I am also trying to figure this out and my guess so far is that it's only possible on local recording
