ZOOM not working on SAMSUNG Android Tablet

Hello Team Zoom,

I bought a new Samsung Andriod tablet on the 30th March. Very expensive device.

ZOOM worked fine until May.

I went to China to deliver lectures...not using ZOOM.

This week I needed ZOOM again and it does not work. It does the SSO login and instead of automatically launching the app, it just stops. I press the Launch ZOOM button on the webscreen and NOTHING. Absolutely nothing. I am exhausted.

I have:

1. Cleared the cache on Chrome
2. Installed and tried to use Microsoft Edge instead
3. Uninstalled and reinstalled the apps.
4. Did a Factory Reset SEVERAL times in the last 16 hours (including at least twice this morning).

Still the same problem.

On my old SAMSUNG Android tablet it works. On my expensive new one it does not yet it did before May.

Please I beg of you for help as I have two online lectures to give on Monday and need ZOOM on the new tablet to work.

Hi All,

Sorry I have not responded. I notice people have posted in the last couple of weeks to my original post.

I ended up contacting live persons from my IT department and also both SAMSUNG and ZOOM.

Took more than two weeks to solve the problem and it all came out with just a tiny little tick/untick of a setting...the Desktop Site in Chrome (probably other web browsers as well as I could not get it working for Edge either but I am using Chrome so...) for my tablet had to be clicked off.

That was the last thing that was tried and the ZOOM app finally started behaving as it does on my old tablet when I would login via the SSO and it opens automatically from the browser.

I don't know why it is working but it is.

Lyrode and Naqiuddin were miracle workers from ZOOM and I thank you them for their patience as there was a lot of trouble shooting back and forth before it worked.

Sorry I did not come back and update here when it was solved.

I hope this works for everyone else. I know how important it is to have ZOOM working for us Android users!

Regards,

Danica

I am also having the same problem. I have done everything i can do. Once i am in the app, i use google account to sign in, it opens my chrome browser, it goes to a page which should automatically launch zoom but it doesnt. Pressing it the launch zoom button is also pointless as nothing happens. Please help

The only thing that eventually worked for me, was to disable the Chrome browser and set the Samsung internet browser as the default. Once the Samsung browser is open make sure that you put it in desktop mode, then I was finally able to, from the browser, launch the zoom

I am also having this issue and Zoom CS is clueless. "delete and reinstall the app" I've done that and every other thing possible.

Try to login and start a meeting.. wow why didn't I think of that? oh. because it doesn't work, which is why I'm asking you to fix your broken app.

I have had this issue for 18 months now

Holy crap! It works!!!!

I had been looking for this option to fix it and couldn't think of what toggle to switch and the moble vs desktop of Chrome or Edge was the defining problem. I switched both to mobile and it worked to sign in.

Thanks so much for posting this! I really appreciate the help/support!

I found another soultion. I recently purcahed a Galaxy S9+ 256GB Tablet, and I too was having the same issue.  I tired unclicking desk top, like you'd recommended but that did not solve my issue.  I too was having the same problem of zoom not loading after login attpempts.  My solution, or work around was to go too apps in settings, and grant crome all permissions, and this solved my issue.

I am right there with you.  I am a court reporter and I travel to do depositions at law firms.  A lot of times an attorney doesn't want to make the drive from far away, so they want to participate via Zoom.  I bought an ONN tablet from Walmart and had a heck of a time even setting the thing up.  I am returning it.  It doesn't even have a case you can buy for it.

So, I bought a Samsung Galaxy A9 tablet.  Super easy set up, but I am trying to see that my Zoom is working properly.   I go to Zoom and select a "test meeting" to check the camera and mic.  I can see myself on the screen ,so that works, but the only thing I was able to do was check the box next to gain entry for the mic.  It tells me I am in a Zoom Test Meeting and all I can do is end the meeting.

I have used Zoom a lot and know that I should be able to select "test mic and camera".  It will ask if you see yourself.  Then it will play music and it will ask if you hear it.  NOTHING!!!

I went so far as to purchase the Zoom Pro Support for $17.00/month because it says you can get tech support.  I was assigned my ID, called the 1-888 number, punched in my ID, and got a message that they do not offer phone support with that level of support.

I finally got someone on chat, but they just kept saying "hmm!  Well, check your settings.  Reboot the tablet....  I have uninstalled the app and reinstalled it, my settings are set to allow the mic and camera within the Zoom app.  NOTHING!!

So, I went online and was going to go ahead and pay for more support so I could just talk to a human being for support and to walk me through troubleshooting.  It said online that for the higher support it would be $26.00/month.  Went to upgrade and it said "amount due $299.95" AND that would be per month.

Got a person on the chat and all she could do was tell me to do the things I already had done over and over.  I said "how can support go from $17/month to $300/month?"  She said "that is the only way you can get support by talking to someone directly on the phone.   She said "you have support but it is just has to go through the chat or via email.  You need to submit a ticket and someone will get back to you."

I already did that as well and haven't heard from anyone.  She said "it can take a few days, but go to the chat button and when it asks for the reason you need help type in connect with agent.

I did that and it said "your plan does not support this feature.  You have to go to the community forum and try to find an answer or create a ticket."

I have no choice but to pay some tech site to fix this one issue.  I would ABSOLUTELY not use Zoom if I wasn't required to.  So frustrating.  Zoom is a huge company.  They make it so hard to get help.
