Zoom keeps crashing

Zoom keeps crashing within seconds of opening it. I have done very last suggestion I can find. I've updated drivers, uninstalled and reinstalled, all updates, CleanZoom, etc. It still crashes. I can't get tech support on the line. Nothing works. What can I do? How can I actually get help or fix this?

Hi @tlfa

If your Zoom keeps on crashing, there are several troubleshooting steps you can take to resolve the issue. First, Restart your computer and uninstall the Zoom client. Then, reinstall the latest version from the Zoom Download Center. Should the issue persists, I highly recommend creating a Support Ticket so we can have our experts troubleshoot it further.

It's like you didn't bother to read what tlfa wrote.

I’ve done all that 3 times now. I’d love to open a support ticket if you could provide me a link. I couldn’t find it in your website and when I did chat it didn’t offer any help.

Same problem, in 2025. How do I submit a support ticket for "zoom keeps crashing on my Windows 10 laptop"?

Hi @akazmerski,

Have you tried uninstalling Zoom, restarting your computer, and then reinstalling the latest version? We had some issues with the previous version, and updating to the latest one should resolve this. You can download it here: https://zoom.us/download.

Thanks for your feedback!  Yes, I actually did that multiple times, including using CleanZoom, and trying both 32- and 64- bit versions. I finally found my way to the support ChatBot and received the feedback to change my video rendering setting to Direct3D9. It had been set to "Auto". Post-change, it has worked in 2 different meetings so far.

I am having the same issue. I've uninstalled and reinstalled three times, restarted the PC each time, cleared the cache. Nothing seems to work.

Same issue here.

Yes I have restarted, updated, uninstalled and reinstalled. It still crashes. Note every time, but frequently enough that it has made my working life very difficult.

For those having this issue, it would be great if you could post your computer specs: For windows users you can find it here: https://www.avast.com/c-how-to-check-your-pc-specs#:~:text=To%20find%20your%20PC%20specs,of%20Windows%20you're%20running. and then post a screenshot.

For mac users you can find it here:

Also, please compare your specs with what is listed here: https://support.zoom.com/hc/en/article?id=zm_kb&sysparm_article=KB0060748

I’m happy to check in on this post.

My issue turned out to be with the video rendering session. Once I changed my video rendering setting to Direct3D9, the problem did not reoccur. My PC is running Windows 10 Home.
