Zoom is unable to detect a camera - in Citrix Environment

I've installed the latest version of the CITRIX AGENT on my Virtual Machine

 

NAME: CITRIX VIRTUAL APPS AND DESKTOPS 7 2023 LTSR CU4 UPDATE 1 - VIRTUAL DELIVERY AGENT
VERSION: 2203.0.4001.4345

 

including the following

Zoom Client for VDI - 5.17.248.50
Zoom VDI Plugin Management - 5.17.248.50
Zoom VDI Universal Plugin - 5.17.248.50

 

on my local machine my camera is working fine and I have installed the following:

Zoom VDI Plugin Management - 5.17.248.50
Zoom VDI Universal Plugin - 5.17.248.50

 

however still unable to Zoom to detect the camera via the Citrix VDI, it works fine on the local machine but not the camera

It sounds like the Zoom VDI components are installed correctly, but the webcam redirection through Citrix may not be enabled or recognized properly.

A few things to check:

  1. Make sure the Citrix Workspace App on the local machine is the latest supported version for the Zoom VDI plugin.

  2. Verify that webcam redirection is enabled in Citrix policies:

  • “Client webcam redirection” = Allowed

  • “HDX webcam video compression” = Enabled

  1. Inside the VDI session, open Zoom → Settings → Statistics and check whether it says “VDI Connected.” If it does not, the plugin is not pairing correctly.

  2. Confirm that the Zoom VDI Plugin version on the endpoint exactly matches the Zoom VDI Media Plugin version required by the Zoom client installed in the VDI.

  3. Try uninstalling all Zoom VDI components from both the VM and local machine, reboot both systems, then reinstall in this order:

  • Zoom VDI Client on the VDI

  • Zoom VDI Plugin on the local endpoint

  • Reboot again

  1. Also test whether the camera is visible inside Citrix itself (outside Zoom). If Windows inside the VDI cannot see the redirected webcam, the issue is likely Citrix policy/configuration rather than Zoom.
