Zoom backgrounds

I am using an individual Zoom account (not managed by an organization). When I try to enable virtual backgrounds in the Zoom app, the option is blocked or grayed out on the Zoom website, even though you are the account owner. I have already:

Checked and confirmed all account-level and group-level settings for virtual backgrounds.
Verified that your device supports virtual backgrounds (since it works with your personal account).
Signed out and back in, and reinstalled the Zoom app.
Ensured you are not signed in with multiple accounts.
Confirmed your account is not managed by an organization or IT team.
Despite these steps, the virtual background setting remains blocked and cannot be enabled.

Hi Kathy1523, thanks for your feedback.

I invite you to create a support ticket at this link: https://support.zoom.com/hc/en/new-request?id=new_request&sys_id=cb06ab4b8702255089a37408dabb3555

Request that they activate and grant you Owner permissions to use virtual funds.

Sometimes certain settings aren't activated by default, and a simple support ticket can help you enable them.

Did you think to restart your computer?

This usually happens when Zoom flags the account or region settings haven’t fully synced. Try changing the Zoom web portal language or region, save, then change it back and recheck the setting. If it’s still grayed out, contact Zoom Support and ask them to manually reset virtual background permissions on your account.
