"You are not longer invited to this event"

Recently, if I change the date and/or time of a single meeting in a recurring series, when anyone who has previously accepted the meeting accepts the changes, I get the following message:

Accepted: XXXX Meeting
From Google Calendar
You are no longer invited to this event
View updated information on Google Calendar

Why is this happening? These invitees appear to still be on the invite list, but then I get questions about whether they were uninvited or if the meeting was cancelled.

Hi @mspiegel, thank you for posting to the Zoom Community!

What you’re seeing is due to how Google Calendar handles updates to single occurrences in a recurring meeting series. When you change one meeting in the series, Google Calendar sometimes issues a confusing notification that says “You are no longer invited to this event,” even though attendees are still on the invite list and the meeting isn’t canceled.

The event is still valid and attendees just need to follow the updated invite details. This is a known Google Calendar behavior, and you can see more about it in this Google support thread.

To minimize confusion we recommend adding a note in the event description when changing times (e.g., “This meeting is still active, just updated to a new time”).
