Why Recording File so big?

why are some recording files 3 to 5 times larger than others?

we have several user accounts that record one-hour videos.

one account generates one-hour video files that are 150MB.

Another account's one-hour video would be 700MB. Why?

Hi @mikey138 , thank you for your contribution to the community!

I know it has been a bit since you posted, but I wanted to provide some clarity. If both recordings are the same length of time then they should be about the same size. However, if one is 1 hr and another recording is 1.5 hrs then you will see a change in the file size, for example. Can you confirm that both recordings are the same length?

    Keep me updated!

Hi Carla, like he said we have a major problem with file sizes and the videos he used as an example were both an hour long so please read this post if you answer because you seemed to buzz kill the above post by asking a question that was already answered.
This is a major problem with zoom as it appears to change to an unbelievably high resolution which makes the file size gigabytes larger than we want them to be.
It would be hard to imagine that Zoom doesn't know about this by now but yet here we still are with no way to control these huge file sizes.
If you have any way to tell them about this problem please do so and give us a setting so we can control it or we'll be forced to go to someone else for our meetings.
