webcam zooms forth and back

If your webcam is automatically zooming or following you during Zoom meetings, it’s likely due to an auto-framing or tracking feature enabled on your webcam or in its software, not in Zoom itself. Here’s what you can do:

1. Check your webcam software: Many webcams (like Logitech, Microsoft, or built-in laptop cameras) have their own software with features like auto-zoom, face tracking, or auto-framing. Open your webcam’s software and look for these settings. Disable any auto-zoom, auto-framing, or tracking options.

2. Zoom video settings: In Zoom, go to Settings > Video. While Zoom itself doesn’t have an auto-zoom feature, you can check if “HD” or “Touch up my appearance” is enabled, but these won’t cause zooming or tracking.

3. Physical webcam controls: Some webcams have physical buttons or touch controls for zoom. Make sure these aren’t being accidentally triggered.

4. Restart Zoom and your computer after making changes to your webcam settings.
