Using Zoom for Online Movie & Letterboxd Discussion Groups

Hi everyone,

Over the past few months, I’ve noticed that more online movie clubs and entertainment communities are using Zoom for weekly discussions, watch parties, and review sessions. One thing I found interesting is how often platforms like are being mentioned during these meetings.

A lot of people in our group recently started asking, “how does Letterboxd work?” especially when members share film diaries, ratings, and custom watchlists during Zoom calls. It actually creates a fun and interactive environment because participants can discuss movies live while also tracking recommendations on Letterboxd afterward.

We’ve been using Zoom breakout rooms for genre-based discussions (horror, sci-fi, classics, etc.), and it has made online film discussions feel much more organized. Features like screen sharing and chat links also help when someone wants to quickly share their Letterboxd profile or movie list.

I’m curious if anyone else here uses Zoom for movie communities, book clubs, or entertainment discussion groups. Have you found any useful settings or moderation tips that improve engagement during these sessions?

Looking forward to hearing your experiences!
