Using windows default Communication Device instead of speakers?

I have a script on my computer that lets me toggle the default windows Communication Device when I press a key.  This works fine in Discord; pressing the key switches call audio output between the two devices, because Discord is set to output to whatever the windows default Communication Device is.

However, on Zoom, there's no option to use the default windows Communication Device, only the default Speakers, so there's no way to automate changing Zoom's output without also changing my whole computer's default audio output.   How can I tell Zoom to output to whatever is set as the Communication Device, the way Discord does?

hi @HazelKoop ,
Great to have you in the community.

I apologise, but Zoom maintains its own list of audio devices and presents you with a selection from that list.

There is no option to use whatever the Windows default device is at that moment.

Note that you can set your speaker as different from your ringtone audio.

If you plug in an external audio, like connecting Bluetooth headphones, Zoom will pick that up too.

In this case, Zoom is acting too clever for you and your neat script.
All the best
