Turning off white border framing my display while using Zoom meetings

Zoom does not have a built-in feature that adds a "white clouded border" around your display during meetings. This effect could be caused by a video filter, virtual background, or a third-party application.

Here are some steps you can try to remove it:

1. In your Zoom desktop client, click your profile picture and select Settings.
2. Go to the Background & Effects tab.
3. Check if any Virtual Background, Video Filter, or Studio Effects are enabled. If so, set them to None or turn them off.
4. Restart your Zoom client and join a meeting to see if the border is gone.

If the issue persists, it may be related to your camera software or another application running on your computer. Try closing other video-related apps and check your camera settings.

No, Zoom added that damn border. I ignored a pop up asking if I wanted it and there it was. I want to get rid of it. I don’t see anything in settings that would fix it.

I have a solution! I’m not going to use zoom. That should fix it. 

I have this as well. All Settings have been checked and the ability to turn if off is nowhere to be found. Zoom added this and it is not a part of my Mac settings. How can I get rid of this?

Video (bottom of screen, click the carat) -> Video and effects settings -> Vdieo -> Adjust for low light.

I have the same issue. Turning off the Adjust for low light option is not a solution. Gemini and Claude both have extensive suggestions with links to numerous online discussions of this problem. What is going on here? 

Here’s something related: if I do a screen capture of Zoom in this condition the white border does not appear in the screenshot. What does that mean? Must be a clue as to what is going on.

I followed Eveningcloud’s last post and it worked like a charm!   thank you.  It IS the Mac camera setting not Zoom setting.  Phew!
