Transcripts of private conversations recorded during Breakout rooms and added to main transcription of teacher teaching in main room

I am on a MACBOOK PRO ,and the HOST of a zoom meeting of approx 30 participants. I do not know what devices they were using to attend the meeting.It is a meeting with a teacher on zoom and alsol live  participants in a room looking at a projected image of the teacher ,and also particapants attending via zoom . So there are 3 computers MACS, a soundboard and AV equip. The Zoom account is either Pro or Business (im guessing)The  version of zoom being used in December of 25 was 6.6.11, which everyone on zoom had updated to.  I dont own manage the account , but I assume that Closed Captioning on Account was ON.

Enabled before the meeting, on one of the computers ,probably the Audio/Visual computer (all computers were logg​​​​​​e​d onto this same zoom account) was the CC and Live Transcripts. This allowed participants to read the content of the teachers talk, which ran down the side of the zoom page. Because it is a teaching class, I as Host, recorded to MY Computer (local) and the AV computer recorded to the cloud. We leave the recording going from the start to the end of the talk and Q and C. After the teacher talk and before the Qand C , we divide the zoom participants into Breakout rooms with 3 apiece. The Closed Captioning did not appear during the breakout rooms which I as Host was managing from my MAC. However at the end of the class, when I went to save the transcript and send it to the teacher, it also included not only the talk. but the private conversation in the breakout room that I participated in from my computer. This is a privacy issue for our class. Does anyone know how to stop the Zoom from transcribing the conversation in the hosts breakout room??

    According to Zoom’s official documentation, the Meeting Summary with AI Companion feature, which generates transcripts, is not supported within breakout rooms. As a result, conversations that occur in breakout rooms are generally not transcribed or included in the main meeting transcript.

    If a breakout room conversation appears in the transcript, it may be due to a specific configuration or an alternative recording method, such as local recording or the use of a third-party transcription tool. Under normal circumstances, Zoom’s built-in transcription feature does not capture breakout room audio as part of the main session transcript.

    To help prevent this in the future:

    • Ensure that transcription and recording are enabled only for the main meeting session if you want breakout room conversations to remain unrecorded.

    • Review and confirm your recording and transcription settings before the meeting begins.
