Transcript menu/option missing in Breakout Rooms (Zoom Workplace 7.0.5)

Hi everyone,
After a late-May update, I can still see Captions (CC) in Breakout Rooms, but the “Transcript” option is missing inside Breakout Rooms. Therefore, I cannot save the meeting transcripts unless the conversation takes place in the main session.

  • In the main session, the transcript option appears and works.
  • In Breakout Rooms, captions display, but there is no save option in the captions/transcription menu.
  • Version: Zoom Workplace desktop app 7.0.5 (same account and same PC as before)

Has anyone else seen this change? Is this a known issue/limitation, or is there a workaround to enable saving captions within Breakout Rooms?

If this issue is due to some feature change, I’d like to request a feature enhancement to allow the transcript option in Breakout Rooms.

    I’ve noticed the same behavior in recent Zoom Workplace versions. It appears that while closed captions continue to work in Breakout Rooms, the option to view or save live transcripts is no longer available within those rooms.

    As far as I know, this is currently a limitation of Zoom’s transcription feature rather than a setting issue on your account or device. Meeting hosts can still access transcripts from the main session, but transcript saving from individual Breakout Rooms is not supported.

    A possible workaround is to bring participants back to the main room when transcript capture is required, or use local note-taking/recording methods if permitted by your organization’s policies.

    It would be great if Zoom could clarify whether this was an intentional change and consider adding transcript saving for Breakout Rooms in a future update. I’d support that feature request as well.
