Tips to Improve Engagement in Zoom Meetings
Hi everyone,
I’ve been using Zoom regularly for meetings and online sessions, and I wanted to share a few observations while also asking for advice from the community.
One challenge I often face is keeping participants engaged throughout the meeting. Sometimes people join but stay silent, keep cameras off, or lose focus after a while. I’ve tried a few things like asking direct questions, using polls, and encouraging interaction in chat, but results are still mixed.
I understand that maintaining a respectful and professional environment is important, and staying on-topic helps keep discussions productive . So I’m looking for practical ways to make meetings more interactive without overwhelming participants.
Here are a few things I’ve tried:
- Starting with a quick introduction or icebreaker
- Using screen sharing for visuals
- Asking short questions during the session
Still, I feel there’s room for improvement.
My questions:
- What strategies do you use to boost engagement in Zoom meetings?
- Do you prefer structured interaction (like polls) or open discussion?
- Any tips for encouraging people to turn on cameras or participate more?
Would love to hear your experiences and suggestions.
Thanks in advance! 😊
