Question

The desktop app does not modify meetings correctly.

Why can't I modify a meeting from the desktop app? I always have to go to the webpage to make the correct changes to an appointment. For example, the app changes the day to any other than the one I selected. I select Friday at 8pm for a Tuesday meeting and it pushes it into the following week on Monday. This has been going on for months now! I have waited in the hopes of an update to correct the problem.

Here's what's likely going on and how to get it sorted.

This matches a known Zoom Workplace desktop-app issue that shows up specifically when editing a single occurrence of a recurring meeting. When you try to move just one instance, your Tuesday meeting, to a new day and time, Friday 8pm, the app can misapply the change and shift it to the wrong date entirely, like pushing it to the following Monday instead.

A few things worth checking before escalating further: confirm you're selecting "This occurrence" rather than "All meetings in this series" when saving the edit, since the documented bug specifically involves single-occurrence edits on a recurring meeting. Double-check that the time zone set in your Zoom desktop app matches the time zone in your connected calendar, Google or Outlook, since a mismatch here can also cause the date or time to land incorrectly. Make sure you're on the latest version of the Zoom Workplace desktop app, since installing the newest update and restarting Zoom is one of the standard first steps for this issue. As a quick sanity check, you can also edit the meeting directly from Meetings, then Upcoming, then select the meeting and choose Edit, changing the date and time there and saving, to see if that path behaves differently.

If the issue still happens after trying those steps, this is worth escalating to Zoom Support directly, since it's already associated with a known issue rather than a one-off glitch.
