SSO Login redirection does not work [Linux Ubuntu 26.04]

Hello,

I have installed the Zoom Client (version 7.0.5) via DEB (I also tried the older SNAP version). The client won't let me log in. I use SSO to log in. I am redirected to the Zoom web page where I can log in successfully and even start a meeting. However, the app does not recognise the information about my login.

 

There is no error message - starting via terminal won’t give any hints either.


Any suggestions?

      Thank you all for your help. The problem was definitely SSO related. After choosing a private login from within Zoom it worked, even though I used sso login in the browser before successfully.

      Could you share your `~/.zoom/logs/zoom_stdout_stderr.log` file with us? You can remove any private information or links from it. Thanks!

      Thank you for your reply! It appears that Zoom is not being launched by your browser. We need to verify the following information:
      1. The browser you are using and its installation package type (e.g., deb, snap, etc.).
      2. The output of the command `xdg-mime query default x-scheme-handler/zoomus` when run in the shell.

      Additionally, after you confirm the "Open Zoom Workplace" prompt in your browser, the browser console outputs a URL in the format `zoomus://xxx.zoom.us/sso?token=xxx`. Could you please try running `open <ZOOMUS_URL>` directly in the shell? We would like to verify whether Zoom Workplace responds to this command.

      Most likely a Zoom SSO callback issue, not your account.

      Try this:

      • Clear Zoom cache:

        rm -rf ~/.zoom ~/.cache/zoom

      • Make sure your default browser is correct and accepts cookies

      • Check URL handler:

        xdg-settings get default-web-browser

      • If you're on Wayland, switch to X11 session

      • Prefer official DEB version, avoid Snap for SSO issues

      In most cases, this is caused by broken browser-to-app authentication handoff, not login failure.
