Sharing audio terrible quality

I have done workouts on zoom since 2020 and the sound has been fine with a slight delay for members. Now, the sound is garbled, or it seems parts of the music just disappears. Some people can’t hear music at all.

What I need is to share my computer audio from Spotify, while showing me on video. I have changed settings and nothing has worked.

I have been talking to support for over a month and still haven’t been able to get a live person to help.

Has anyone found the right settings for this?

Hi there MandiJJ! 👋

Sorry to hear you’ve been having trouble with your audio setup — we know how important clear sound is for your workout sessions. Here are a few things you can try to improve your music sharing experience:

  1. Use “Share Computer Audio” and “Optimize for Music or Video”

    • When you click Share Screen, select Advanced → Music or Computer Sound Only (or choose your screen and check Share sound and Optimize for video clip).
    • This ensures your music plays directly from your computer into Zoom with the best possible quality.
  2. Check Original Sound settings

    • Turn on Original sound for musicians in your Zoom desktop app.
    • Go to Settings > Audio > Advanced, and make sure “Show in-meeting option to enable Original sound” is checked.
    • During your meeting, click Turn on Original Sound at the top-left corner.
  3. Adjust Audio Profile (if available)

    • In newer Zoom versions, under Settings > Audio > Audio Profile, select Music and Professional Audio, then enable High fidelity music mode and Stereo audio if your internet connection is stable.
  4. Spotify playback considerations

    • Make sure no other app is taking over your audio output.
    • If using Bluetooth speakers or wireless earbuds, try switching to a wired connection for more consistent audio quality.

If you’ve already tried these steps and the issue persists, please confirm your Zoom app version and operating system so we can help troubleshoot further.

You can also request a live support session by visiting Zoom Support and selecting “Audio/Video Issues.”

Hope this helps get your classes sounding great again! 🎶💪
