Sharing and recording multiple screens

Hi Zoom Forum,

I have a dilemma, I will be taking an econ exam that is open note and will need to share and screen record while taking the exam.  Is it possible to share and record two monitors in zoom, I would like to have the exam up on one monitor and have my notes open on the other monitor while recording?  If this doesnt work I will have to print off my notes and only record the exam on one monitor.

Thanks

    I haven't seen an option to record multiple screens; I even experimented using the “Advanced Options” of “Share a Portion of the Screen” and span the area across my two screens side-by-side but it only recorded the Area of the Active Screen I was using at the moment and not the whole area.

    If this is a common thing for you do and need, what I would suggest is to replace both your screens for an Ultra-Wide one where you can open both Applications/Windows side-by-side with a single monitor/display. It could be an interesting feature request for Zoom to allow Multiple Screen Recordings.

    Vinnie,

    Thank you for your response.  I was afraid that would be the answer, and I agree this would be an interesting request for Zoom to allow Multiple Screen Recordings.  Wish i had an ultrawide screen, however, i just purchased two brand new widescreen side by side monitors.  Oh well paper notes it is.

    Thanks again

    Is it possible having your notes in your Mobile (or a Tablet) that can also join the meeting as another participant? The recording will include them all, and there is an option in Zoom to record Active Speaker, Gallery View and Shared Screen separately. Not sure I fully understand your use-case but it might be an option. Good luck.

    Hello,

    I was able to record two separate Zoom screenshares in one recording. Here is a screen shot showing my laptop screen share on the left, and my external monitor on the right all in one Zoom cloud recording.

    When you screenshare you can (Mac) shift  click on two desktops or apps to screenshare both.

    Good to know @Frank_TB , Thanks for the information;  tested with Windows and 2 external monitors and it didn't work: I will try with a Laptop-Monitor+ External-Monitor to verify if I can make it work that way.

    Hi Vinnie,

    I rechecked, the key combo ws shift click, not command click.

    Here’s what that looks like when you share multiple sources;

    If Zoom requires you to record the screen, it usually captures only the screen you choose to share. One option is to share the monitor that has the exam while keeping your notes open on the second monitor. Just make sure your instructor allows that setup before the exam.

    Hello @Laura Ellis , I am not sure if you are still receiving or reading these updates and I hope it is not too late but below @Frank_TB suggested using Shift+<Click> to select multiple Screens (Many thanks @Frank_TB ) if you are using a Mac. I tried using <Ctrl>+<Click> in Windows and it worked: It left me select Screen 1 and Screen 2 for Sharing, and it actually recorded both Screens side by side as well. This is how it looks like when selecting both screens:

    Success in your test.
