Recording only speakers

Hi,

I have an event coming up and I want to have two video options recorded - 1. Speaker view 2. Speakers side by side

There will also be a gallery of participants who will have the option to interact with the speakers but we do not wish them to be seen in the video, only hear their voices.

i checked the boxes record speaker, gallery and shared screen. I next unchecked the gallery option, however, we got one video which was great and switched from speaker to speaker, but the other was full gallery.
Both speakers were made host and co-host and we also pinned them.

What else do we need to do to avoid showing the gallery of participants?
spotlight?

thank you 🙏

Cloud recording or local?

Generally speaking, Spotlighting (global) is what you want to use to affect recording layouts, not Pinning (your local view only).

Hello! Thanks for commenting, much appreciated. I suspect I need to record to the cloud to access 2 separate recordings. So, if I've understood correctly, I shall pin and spotlight both host and co-host so that only their faces are showing in the recordings.

If I switch to gallery view during the recording, will that interrupt the set up? I'm unclear how I might see those who have their hand raised if I am viewing speaker view.

Thanks again for the guidance!

You'll want to test to be certain, as Zoom's documentation is notoriously unclear and/or out-of-date.
You should be able to see raised hands in the participant list (and if gesture recognition is enabled, people who raise their hands on camera will show up with raised hand indicators within the participant list).
