    Hi Leah Sanderson,

I completely understand how important the MP4 recording is for your course certification, and how frustrating it can be when the file seems to have vanished.

Here are some steps that may help locate or retrieve it:

    1. Search your computer for the MP4 file – On Windows, open File Explorer and search for *.mp4 under “This PC.” On macOS, use Spotlight (Command + Space) and search for .mp4. Sort results by Date Modified to focus on today’s date (June 9, 2026).
    2. Check your meeting app’s default save folder – Zoom, Teams, or Webex often save recordings in “Videos” (Windows) or “Movies” (Mac). You can also open the app’s settings to confirm the exact save path.
    3. Look in “Recent Files” or “Recents” – The file may appear in your recent activity list or in your video player’s “Open Recent” section.
    4. Check temporary or cache folders – On Windows, look in C:\Users\[YourUser]\AppData\Local\Temp; on Mac, check ~/Library/Application Support/.
    5. Log in to the meeting platform’s web portal – Some platforms automatically upload recordings to the cloud even if the local download failed.
    6. If available, re-download and convert again – If the original recording still exists on the platform, download it again and convert it to MP4, noting the destination folder.
    7. Check cloud backups – If you use OneDrive, Google Drive, or Dropbox, the file may have synced automatically.

    Hope those steps helps.
