Hello @Wendy Michi Ou, welcome to the Zoom Community!
It’s great to hear that your friend is stepping into a community leadership and hosting role. Getting started with Zoom is usually easiest when she first becomes comfortable with the basics; joining and scheduling meetings, using mute/unmute and video controls, screen sharing, and managing the chat. Once she’s comfortable with those basics, the advanced host features will be much easier to use.
For beginner-friendly learning, I recommend starting with the official Zoom Learning Center and Zoom Support pages. They offer clear, step-by-step guides and videos that cover essential features such as video and audio settings, screen sharing, participant controls, and host tools.
For Breakout Rooms, Zoom also provides detailed instructions on how to create rooms, assign participants (automatically or manually), open and close rooms, and manage discussions during live sessions. A helpful way to build confidence is to run a practice meeting and test these features with a small group before hosting a real event.
If your friend has any questions or runs into any issues along the way, feel free to reach out; we're always happy to help!
