Random meeting joiner & auto framing

I am requesting immediate help with two recurring issues that are impacting our meetings. I have already contacted support multiple times, but I have not received a resolution.

Issue 1: Unknown third party participant joining our meetings
Every time my boss and I join a Zoom meeting, a random third party participant joins automatically. It appears as a blank or black tile and shows the name “Netic”. We have disabled AI Companion and auto-recording across our settings, but this participant still joins even after turning those features off. This is a serious security and privacy concern, and we need to understand exactly what this participant is and how to permanently prevent it from joining any meeting.

Issue 2: Auto-framing will not stay disabled
Auto-framing keeps turning on or staying active even after I disable it. I have turned it off multiple times, signed out and back in, restarted my computer, and followed the troubleshooting steps I was given. The setting still does not stick.

At this point, I need a clear explanation and a permanent fix for both issues. Please escalate this to a specialist who can investigate account-level settings and any connected apps or services that could be forcing these behaviors.

Issue 1: Can you navigate to zoom.us/account/metrics/dashboard/home/#/pastMeetings when logged in as an admin and find a meeting where “Netic” was present? You should be able to assess the IP addreess of this device, whether it was a Zoom client or bot/SDK join, as well as some other key pieces of info. Feel free to share your findings (with sensitive data removed) here and we can assist in getting to the bottom of this.

Issue 2: Can you please provide the OS you’re using, the version of Zoom you’re using, and the webcam make/model you’re using? This info will help us to better assess what might be happening.

To be clear - this is a community forum and not a support escalation queue - if you require account-specific support from Zoom (you’ve requested “a specialist who can investigate account-level settings”, you’ll need to seek this at support.zoom.us through your account’s support plan).

    Thanks for the response.

To clarify, the Zoom account in question is a Basic account, which is why I’m unable to access Account Metrics / Dashboard → Past Meetings to view participant join method or IP details. When accessing that page, I receive an “Account is not paid” message.

Here are the details you requested for Issue 2:

    • OS: macOS Tahoe 26.2

    • Device: MacBook Pro (14-inch, Apple M5, 16 GB)

    • Zoom account type: Basic

    • Webcam: MacBook Pro Camera (built-in)

Given the account limitation, what is the recommended way to identify the source of an unknown participant that auto-joins and records meetings on a Basic account? Is there an alternative report, log, or escalation path that can be used to determine whether this is a Zoom client, SDK/bot, Zoom Rooms device, or another service joining under the account name?

This automatic join + recording behavior is the primary concern, as AI Companion and auto-recording are disabled.

Appreciate any guidance on how to proceed given the account constraints.
