Quick Switch Between Video View and Persistent Student Screen View
Dear Zoom Product Team,
I am an online tutor who uses Zoom extensively for one-to-one lessons with students.
I would like to suggest a feature that could be very valuable for teachers, tutors, and educational institutions.
Currently, during online lessons, seeing a student's webcam is often not enough to ensure that they are fully engaged in the lesson. Some students may switch to games, social media, videos, or other unrelated content while the lesson is in progress.
I would like Zoom to introduce an optional feature that allows a host or teacher to view a student's desktop in real time, provided that the student has explicitly granted permission.
My suggestion is to add a simple toggle button within the participant's video panel:

Click once to switch from the student's webcam video to their desktop view.

Click again to switch back to the webcam video.

The student would always be notified that desktop monitoring is active and would have the ability to stop sharing at any time.
This would create a much smoother experience than repeatedly asking students to start and stop screen sharing during lessons.
Such a feature would be especially useful for:

Private lessons

Homework supervision

Remote examinations

Educational institutions conducting online classes
I believe this feature would significantly improve student engagement and make Zoom an even stronger platform for online education.
