Problem with external speakers

Up until a few  months ago my external speakers worked fine on Zoom meetings. Now only my laptop speakers work with Zoom. At first I thought it was an issue with the connection with my particular speakers so I checked with other speakers and have the same issue. Both sets of speakers enter on non-Zoom activities so it appears this is a software issue with Zoom.

Well, I’m glad to know it’s not just me, but I wish someone had presented a solution!

I have the same problem with a Dell Laptop and the speaker not working on a Logi Dock during a Zoom Call.

I have an Acer laptop, which has an applet called Acer Purified Voice, that was causing the garbling in Zoom for me (no other audio affected from other sources). I turned off the AI adjustment and that fixed it right away. Hope this helps

@bjuea I was having this same issue and just solved it!

In Zoom Workplace, go to the microphone icon (where you mute/unmute).

Click the small up arrow (^) next to it to see your audio settings. From that list, I was able to select my external speakers, and it started working immediately.

Hope this helps—this was an ongoing issue for me, too.
