Power Point oddities with slide advancement

I donno really know where this should go - if it’s zoom, apple, or Powerpoint.  Since I can’t reproduce it when NOT screensharing my PPT presentation on zoom, I’m gonna start by asking here.

Here’s my setup and use case.   Weekly “hybrid” meeting - 50 in person about 40 on zoom.  No interaction between zoom and inperson - just webcam on the presenter and sharing PPT slide decks.   Mac mini running the PPT - HDMI to the TV in the room, logged into zoom and sharing audio, video, and shared screen - sharing the full PPT application.  Second laptop used and logged into zoom meeting, made host, for confidence monitor and chat moderation.

When advancing slides (via the clicker last week) it took a few clicks and then skipped a bunch of slides.  I replaced the AAA mid meeting to no help.  BUT then noticed this oddity.  Didn’t think much of it until it happened again today - this time NOT using the clicker rather the attached keyboard.

I’d advance slides on cue, but periodically, the slide wouldn’t advance on screen inperson (direct HDMI).  So, I’d click again and it’d skip that slide.  ON ZOOM however, my confidence laptop shows it advanced!  In other words, everyone is seeing slide “Step 8”.  I advance.  Zoom see’s “Step 9”, room sees 8 still.  I advance again, both see “Step 10” until I backtrack and show “Step 9” to all again.

As I mentioned, I have only experienced this when zoom sharing my screen.  Admittingly, only on one computer too, so...

Has anyone seen similar?  Any ideas?
