Plantronic headset

I’m encountering an issue with Zoom  and my Plantronics Bluetooth headset for audio and microphone use. The headset works perfectly with other applications like Google Meet, You Tube, etc so I believe the device itself is functioning properly.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

  • Reviewed and followed all relevant Zoom support articles

  • Checked audio settings within Zoom and selected the correct input/output device

  • Verified that the headset is connected and set as the default in the system audio settings

  • Uninstalled, Installed, Restarted Zoom and my computer

  • I show the green bars when conducting the testing but I cannot hear the sound or recording
  • System: Window 11
  • PC: Lenovo Thinkpad

Despite this, Zoom does not play or capture audio through the headset.

Do you have any additional troubleshooting steps or suggestions? Any support would be greatly appreciated.

As an audio and broadcast engineer I can tell you that computer audio can be very complicated. Since you did not provide the specific headset model number I can only make educated guesses. Many headsets have a listening and communication mode. In listening mode the device only works as a headphone - the mic is not used. WIn 11 has numerous audio settings that need to be set correctly including permission settings. Unpair the device and then re pair it to make sure it is correctly connected. Check the device manual for any requirements to make special settings for communication mode. Run the audio tests to make sure the device is properly connected. Seeing Vu bars and not hearing audio usually means Zoom is connected to a different device.

If this works please click accept as a solution.

If not post screen shots of the audio dialog.

Hello. Thank you for looking at the issue. the model is Plantronics SAVI 8200 UC Series. I want to point out that the device functions properly when used with applications such as Google Meet, You Tube.

I am having the same problem.  Windows says it's a D100-M.  The back of the device reports D100A-M.

It works with Spotify, Teams, and other applications, but does not work with Zoom.

I finally solved this.

Click on up arrow next to Audio ^, then select Settings.

On the Audio tab, scroll to bottom and click the "Advanced" button

Disable either: Signal processing by Windows audio device drivers - OR - Windows system audio enhancements
Turning off one or the other solved the problem for me.  The "Windows system audio enhancements" indicates that this setting could impact other software, so I turned off the "Signal processing by Windows audio device drivers".
