Personal Meeting ID (PMI) Passcode Setting Keeps Reverting

At least three times this month, I have had people unable to join my Zoom meetings due to needing a passcode. Each time, the setting for Personal Meeting ID (PMI) Passcode had been turned on. I did not turn this on. I have the waiting room enabled, so that should cover complying with the Security Guidelines.

Every time, I have to manually go into my settings and turn Personal Meeting ID (PMI) Passcode off.

This is a big problem for me as I have weekly recurring and monthly meetings with 10+ people.

Is anyone else dealing with this?

Welcome to the Zoom Community, @jannukgrrl.

I'm not sure why this setting would "change by itself".

There is a big difference between the Personal Meeting ID (PMI) and the Passcode.  The PMI is a "meeting ID" that is personally assigned to you and can be re-used over and over.  Generally speaking, this option is considered less secure than using "generated meeting IDs" for each meeting, but is admittedly used by some people with no issue.

The Passcode is the "not so secret character sequence" that allows you to enter the Room.  For Licensed (paid) users, you can choose to enable or disable the Passcode independently for PMI-based meetings versus "generated ID" meetings.

What type of account do you have?  If it is a Basic (free) account, the Passcode is a mandatory requirement, even if Waiting Room is enabled.

I am also having this same issue. It is infuriating.

Hello @reneylcsw,

Welcome to the Zoom Community! We're glad to have you here.

It’s possible that the meeting was scheduled by a privileged user via a third-party calendar, and the passcode may have been pre-filled or cached in the input field, which could have caused the user to miss any changes made. If you need further assistance, kindly submit a ticket to our technical team and include the meeting ID, date, and time of the meeting.
