Person Talking Camera Freezes

I have a weird issue when it comes to meetings. When I am in a zoom meeting, the person talking would randomly freeze but I can still hear the audio. The interesting thing is, only the person speaking freezes, the others in the call are fine. I confirmed that no one else in the calls have this issue with the main person speaking, so it's isolated to me only. I am not sure what the problem is, but my computer stats are the following:

 

Ryzen 99503xd

GTX 5090

96gb ram

1gb down wifi / ethernet cable (happens on both)

57" Samsung Ultra Wide at 240hz (DP2.1)

Zoom ver: Version: 6.4.12 (64384)

 

Things I've done

- Reinstalled Zoom

- Reinstalled Video Drivers

- Installed most recent AMD chip set drivers 

- All drivers are up to date on everything

 

When looking at load on cpu/gpu, its quite low, so it can't really be that. Anyone have any ideas why this happens?

I’ve run into a similar Zoom issue before, and it’s often due to hardware acceleration or high refresh rates. I’d start by going to Zoom settings > Video > Advanced and turning off all hardware acceleration options. Then try lowering your monitor’s refresh rate from 240Hz to 120Hz or 60Hz, Zoom can struggle with very high refresh displays. You can also switch the video rendering method (like Direct3D11 or OpenGL) in the same settings. It helps to clear Zoom’s cache by deleting everything in %appdata%\Zoom\data. Lastly, I’d disable any overlays (like Discord or ShadowPlay) and turn off GPU scheduling in Windows settings. These steps usually fix the issue.
