Participants pane doesn't show all connected users

My Participants Pane doesn't show all the connected viewers. They show up in the Gallery view, even if they don't have a camera enabled/turned-on.

 

I am running Zoom on Linux
Linux Mint 22.2
KDE Plasma 5.27.12
KDE Frameworks 5.115.0
QT Ver 5.15.13
Kernel 6.16.11
GUI X11

Thanks for sharing your system details. On Linux, the Zoom client should still display all connected participants in the Participants Pane, regardless of their camera status. If you’re seeing everyone in Gallery View but not in the Participants Pane, here are some Linux-specific troubleshooting steps:

  1. Refresh the Participants Pane:

    • Click the Participants button to close and reopen the pane. This can sometimes force a refresh.
  2. Update Zoom:

    • Make sure you have the latest Zoom client for Linux. Download the newest version from the Zoom Download Center.
  3. Check Window Scaling and Display Settings:

    • KDE Plasma’s display scaling or custom window decorations can sometimes cause UI elements to not render correctly. Try adjusting your display scaling or switching to a different window theme to see if the Participants Pane updates.
  4. Try a Different Window System:

    • If you’re running under X11, try launching Zoom under Wayland (if supported) or vice versa, as some UI issues are specific to the window system.
  5. Restart Zoom and Your System:

    • Fully quit Zoom (not just close the window) and restart your computer to clear any lingering UI or memory issues.
  6. Test in a New User Profile:

    • Create a new user account on your Linux system, install Zoom, and see if the issue persists. This can help determine if it’s a user profile or system-wide issue.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, it may be a bug with the Zoom Linux client on KDE Plasma. In that case, you can report the issue to Zoom Support with your system details and logs for further investigation.

Thanks for the reply,

I have already done #1, 2, 3, 5.  This has been happening for the past several weeks that I'm aware of. I don't normally open that window so I wasn't aware of the issue.

I have even uninstalled and re-installed Zoom with no difference.

 

I don't have Wayland installed, so I'm not going to be testing that portion. I don't see the need to install a whole subsystem just for a single program having issues.

 

I can try a new profile to see if that does anything at least. I don't host the meetings so will have to wait until the next one is available.
