ONE attendee out of 130+ could not hear shared content but all others can.

The sound was being shared properly, I could hear it. Everyone else could hear it. One user reported that he can hear all peoples microphones but was unable to hear the shared content. The dashboard does not show any indication of an audio problem. It was music for what that is worth. What could cause this?

    Hello @ClintonVadnais,

If only one attendee out of 130+ could not hear the shared content (while everyone else could), the issue is almost certainly on that attendee’s side. Here are some possible causes and troubleshooting steps:

    1. Audio Output Settings: The attendee may have their Zoom audio output set to a device (like headphones or speakers) that isn’t working properly for shared content. They should check their audio output device in Zoom and on their computer.

    2. Join Audio Method: If the attendee joined by phone for audio, they will not hear computer audio (like music or videos) shared through Zoom’s “Share Sound” feature. Only users connected via computer audio can hear shared system sounds.

    3. Zoom Client Version: An outdated Zoom client can sometimes cause audio issues. The attendee should update their Zoom app to the latest version.

    4. Muted Application/Browser: If the attendee is using the Zoom web client, their browser tab or system sound mixer may have Zoom muted for shared content.

    5. Audio Enhancements/Drivers: Some audio drivers or enhancements (like “audio ducking” or noise suppression) can interfere with certain types of audio, especially music. The attendee should try disabling any audio enhancements.

    6. Network Issues: Rarely, a network issue could cause only certain audio streams to drop for a user, but this is uncommon if they can hear voices.

    Recommended steps for the attendee:

    • Leave and rejoin the meeting.
    • Switch between computer and phone audio to test.
    • Check and change their audio output device in Zoom.
    • Update their Zoom client.
    • Try joining from a different device.

If the problem persists for that user, they may want to test Zoom audio in another meeting or with Zoom’s audio test feature.
