Welcome to the Zoom community, @Marcela Cardenas! If you’re seeing the message “Your microphone couldn’t be connected. Make sure your microphone is connected correctly" it may not be an issue with the microphone button inside the meeting. It’s worth checking your device settings and making sure Zoom has permission to access your microphone.
If you’re on Windows, completely close the meeting and open the Zoom desktop app. Go to Profile picture → Settings → Audio, then check which microphone is selected. If you’re using a headset, webcam, or USB microphone, make sure Zoom is using the one you actually want. You can also click Test Mic and speak to see whether Zoom is picking up your voice. If that looks fine, go to Windows Settings → Privacy & security → Microphone and make sure Microphone access, Let apps access your microphone, and Let desktop apps access your microphone are all turned on. Once you’ve checked those settings, reconnect your microphone if needed, fully quit Zoom, and open it again.
On a Mac, go to Zoom → Settings → Audio and select the correct microphone, then run Test Mic. After that, open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone and make sure Zoom is allowed to use the microphone. Quit Zoom completely, reopen it, and join the meeting again.
If you’re using an iPhone or iPad, check Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone and make sure Zoom is enabled. On Android, go to Settings → Apps → Zoom → Permissions → Microphone and allow access.
Hopefully that gets you back in with audio. The important part is checking both sides: Zoom needs permission to use the microphone, and it also needs to have the correct microphone selected.
