That's a common one, and the fix usually isn't inside Zoom at all, it's typically a phone-level permission or hardware issue blocking the mic even after you've been unmuted in the meeting.

A few things to try in order: tap the microphone icon yourself in the meeting app and confirm it's not showing a slash or "Muted" state, since the host unmuting you doesn't always sync instantly with the app's own mute toggle. Check your phone's microphone permission for the meeting app. On iPhone, go to Settings, then Privacy and Security, then Microphone, and make sure the app is enabled there. On Android, go to Settings, then Apps, then the meeting app, then Permissions, then Microphone, and confirm it's set to Allow. Disconnect any Bluetooth headset or wired headphones, since the app may be trying to use that device's mic instead of your phone's built-in one. Close the app fully and reopen it, or restart your phone if that doesn't help. If you're using a phone case, remove it and check that the microphone opening isn't blocked by dust or debris, since that can physically prevent sound from being picked up.

If recordings also come out silent on your end, that points more toward a hardware mic issue on the phone itself rather than a Zoom or app-specific problem. Let me know if you're on iPhone or Android so I can tailor the steps further if needed.
