Meeting starting at 7 and one ending at 7

Hello Zoom Community,
I am trying to manage two meetings on the same Zoom account and I am looking for guidance on the best setup.

I currently host:
 Advice 6:00 PM
Study 7:00 PM

There may be times when the first meeting runs over while participants are beginning to join the second meeting. My account is licensed, but I do not appear to have access to concurrent meetings.

I would like to know:
What is the best way to allow the 7:00 PM meeting to begin if I am still in the 6:00 PM meeting?

Can an alternative host fully start and manage the second meeting without me present?
If I enable “Join Before Host,” will participants be able to communicate with each other before I arrive?
Are there any recommended settings or workarounds for churches or organizations running back-to-back meetings from one account?
Thank you in advance for any help or recommendations.

    Hi @ClerkatWork!

Thank you for joining Zoom Community!

If you’re the only host on that licensed account and concurrent meetings aren’t enabled, you can’t actively host two meetings at the same time. If you try, Zoom will prompt you to end the first meeting before starting the second, and participants may see messaging indicating the host has another meeting in progress.

Best setup for your 6:00 PM / 7:00 PM overlap

    1. Assign an Alternative Host for the 7:00 PM meeting
    • Yes—an alternative host can start and fully run the 7:00 PM meeting without you present, as long as they’re on the same account and properly eligible/licensed for alternative host. (They start it as host; you can join later.)
    1. Consider Join Before Host carefully
    • If you enable Join Before Host, participants can enter before you arrive. Depending on your meeting settings, they may be able to talk to each other (audio/video/chat) before you join.
    • Also note: Join Before Host can create confusion if people join early or join the wrong meeting ID, and it can contribute to “host account in use” situations.

    Recommended workarounds for churches/organizations

    • Use two licensed users (two hosts) on the account: one scheduled/assigned to the 6:00 PM meeting and another to the 7:00 PM meeting (or at least have a licensed alternative host for the second).
    • If you must keep one main host, set the 7:00 PM meeting’s Alternative Host to a trusted staff member who can start on time, then you join when ready.

    Hi @ClerkatWork ,

Your standard pro licence does not allow you to run two meetings at the same time.
Please be careful because trying to get around this could get you in trouble with the “Zoom police”

If you are in a meeting as a guest and you let people join your next meeting before you, then this is possible. That is “join before host.”

There is no simple workaround. For pro users, only one account should be in a meeting at a time.
If you upgraded you have some more options.
