Low video resolution in Zoom meetings.

Even though I enabled HD videos in the settings on my newly purchased Zoom Business product, the highest video resolution I can see is 640x360. Why can't we see 1080p even though we enabled HD?

Also, I wanted to send an email about this via Zoom, but I couldn't find it, so I decided to write here. I must say that despite the product I purchased, I did not find the support service satisfactory.

    Hi there,

I understand your frustration. Even if you’ve enabled HD videos in Zoom, there are a few important things to know about 1080p video availability:

    1. 1080p is not automatically included with all accounts

      • Zoom’s Business plan supports 720p HD by default.

      • 1080p HD requires a separate request and approval from Zoom. It’s not something that turns on just by enabling HD in the settings.

    2. 1080p may be limited by your device or meeting setup

      • The maximum resolution can also depend on the camera you’re using, your internet bandwidth, and the Zoom client version.

    3. Check Zoom’s official instructions

      • You can request 1080p by contacting Zoom support via support.zoom.us → Submit a ticket. They will review and enable it if your account qualifies.

Regarding support, I know it can be frustrating when you can’t find a direct email. Zoom mostly channels support through their web ticket system, live chat, or phone support for certain account types. Writing here is good for visibility, but submitting a ticket directly is the fastest way to request 1080p.

    Next steps:

    1. Go to Zoom Support.

    2. Choose “Technical Support” and submit a request specifically asking for 1080p HD video for your Business account.

    3. Make sure your Zoom client and cameras are capable of 1080p for it to actually display once enabled.

If you want, I can draft a ready-to-send support request for you so you don’t have to worry about the wording.

Do you want me to do that?

    hi @Ferdi KOÇ ,

the answer you have is almost correct, but if you have a business acocunt you no longer have to ask Zoom. In your main account settings you can enable this.

Of course webianr will only work when you have a webinar license.

It’s frustrating when HD settings don’t deliver full resolution. On Zoom, even with HD enabled, 1080p is only available under certain conditions (like large meeting licenses or enabling 1080p through Zoom support). Definitely worth reaching out to support directly they can clarify why it’s limited and help enable full HD if your plan supports it.

    @tom cary ,

Zoom only sends out one version of the meeting to everyone, so if there is a mobile phone which can not use HD, it can bring down the ettings for all.
Zoom has know about his, but it take much more processing to procvide multiple versions for Zoom and the users. However, they are tyring to address this issue this year.
So if you want to use HD, mae sure this is suitable for hte audience took. often i see 50% of attendees will watch on mobile. For their screen and usage plan, HD is not a good thing for them.
