I would like seek any possible way to look for the missing part of the recording.

The internet was not really stable. There was a 6 hour session and needed to be recorded. However, there were only 4.5 hours videos. I did not realize that the recording stopped for the last one hour.....I recorded to the local computer......

I am desperate to find the solution to get back the last hour video. Is there any way I could do? It is very important lecture for the exam...

Hello @Jennysu

If the recording occurred and was a local recording versus a cloud recording, there would be no way for Zoom to recover this recording. If this was a cloud recording, our support team would do their best to try and retrieve the recording, but it is not guaranteed that they would be able to do so.

I do apologize for this inconvenience; Zoom does not have access to customer's personal local recordings.

I hope this helps and if this answers your question please make sure to mark this as a solution.

Thank you,
Jake

I totally understand how stressful this is — especially with exam prep on the line. Unfortunately, if the recording stopped because your internet dropped, Zoom locally saves only what was successfully transmitted to the cloud cache during the session. The missing hour might not exist on your local machine either, since local recordings still rely on the cloud relay to process chunks.

Quick things to check:

  1. Look in your Zoom recording folder for any .tmp or .partial files — sometimes they get stuck

  2. Check ~/Documents/Zoom or your default recording path for incomplete files

  3. Try using recovery tools like Recuva (Windows) or TestDisk (Linux) to scan for deleted temp files

Worst case, reach out to Zoom support — they sometimes have cached fragments on their servers for up to 30 days if cloud recording was enabled (even if you recorded locally).

I've dealt with similar issues before and posted some detailed recovery steps on my profile feel free to check it out here: https://community.zoom.com/members/daniel-489-502905

Hope this helps! 🤞
