Linux search for contacts in Zoom Client 7.0 does not work

Hi!

I’ve just upgraded to Zoom Client 7.0.0 (1666). The search bar on the top now pop up a window that is different from the app and where I cannot type anything inside. There’s an input for the search, latest searches, results divided by type. Only the X to close the windows works.

@yurj @John_Z  Could you help modify the zoomus.conf file by setting the value of `enableCefOsrMode` to false, and then check whether the issue is resolved?

Hi @yurj Thank you feedback, could you share screenshot. You can pixelate any sensitive information.

As you can see below, when I type in “Cerca persone, ...” it shows nothing. But it works, I mean if I type the name of a know person and press enter, I get the chat on that person. So it seems that the drop-down menu does not show. Also, the window cannot be moved around, I can just close it clicking on the X. This is Debian 13, Zoom language: italian

I’m having the same problem on Linux Mint Cinnamon 22.3 and Zoom 7.0.

The side bar isn’t loading and I can’t see contacts, or more importantly my reoccurring meetings. Clicking on ‘schedule’ on the left hand panel just throws up a blank screen which freezes and I have to restart the app.  Absolute shambles of an update yet again.

Clicking on ‘join’ and then choosing a previous meeting is the workaround I’ve found for not having access to my reoccurring meetings. Hope this helps someone else.

Yeah, I noticed the same issue after upgrading. The new search popup seems buggy I also can’t type anything in it. Hopefully, Zoom releases a fix soon!

the fix is “modify the zoomus.conf file by setting the value of `enableCefOsrMode` to false,” and restart Zoom.

Looks like a bug in the new update Try restarting Zoom or signing out and back in. If it still doesn’t work, reinstalling the client might fix the search issue.
