Limit of 40 mins for Ukrainians being tempoparily abroad

Hello,

I am a Ukrainian citizen and I have been using the same free Zoom Workplace Basic account throughout the war.

While I was physically in Ukraine, I was able to host meetings lasting several hours without the 40-minute limit. I have never had a paid Zoom subscription.

I am currently in Albania temporarily for a few weeks, but I still live in Ukraine and have not changed my account or plan. As soon as I started connecting from Albania, the 40-minute limit appeared.

I understand that the standard Basic plan has a 40-minute limit. My question is specifically about the Ukraine-related exemption that allowed Ukrainian users to host longer meetings for free.

Is this Ukraine exemption still active in 2026? If so, is there any way for a Ukrainian citizen who is temporarily abroad to have the exemption applied while outside Ukraine?

I am not asking for a paid upgrade. I would simply like clarification from Zoom regarding the Ukraine-specific policy.

Thank you.

Hi @AlinaTaborovets and welcome to the community. Zoom previously offered a temporary exemption to the 40-minute limit to users physically in Ukraine. However, this exemption is no longer in place, and the 40‑minute limit is enforced for all Basic accounts worldwide.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions.
