Are you referring to this new field on the Schedule a Meeting page?

if so, I think you might be reading something into the word "Invitees" here.  These are people who are invited to the Meeting Chat.  They are not being sent a meeting invitation.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused and understand your frustration. Our engineers confirm the behavior is a bug and are working on fixing it in the subsequent releases.  As a temporary workaround, you can copy the meeting invitation from the web portal, which will include the date and time information.
