I cannot see the screen shared by someone else

I just installed zoom on a new windows laptop. I now cannot see the shared screen from someone else. (I do know how to share screens. This is not the problem. I have been using Zoom since it started.) Any thoughts on what is wrong?

What do you see? Can you see their video? Check the upper left area of the Zoom client window for tabs. You may have the meeting tab selected rather than the screen shared tab.

I am having this same issue. It says "_______ has started screen sharing" but its not actually showing the screen.

Thank you for helping! The Zoom client window is when the meeting is running? I do not see any tabs in the upper left at all. I do not typically start the meetings so am not the host. I am looking now at my host screen. Is the client window before you open a meeting? I have been in 3 meetings and cannot see any of their screenshares (though others can and I watched a recording of one of them. Their screen indeed is sharing.). 

 

this just happened when I downloaded zoom to a new laptop. I have used zoom successfully for years.

Hello @tltayl,

Can you kindly check if focus mode is turned on in your settings?
