I selected the "None" option for the virtual background, yet a virtual background is still being applied; Zoom is unable to display my actual surroundings. I have already turned off "I have a green screen". by the way I got a Mac.

Quit Zoom completely, reopen it, set Background to “None” again, and turn off all Effects/Filters. Also update Zoom if needed.

    Customizing Camera Backgrounds on macOS

macOS provides users with the ability to customize their camera backgrounds during video calls. This feature enhances the visual experience by allowing you to replace your actual background with images or gradients.

    Supported Applications

You can use the background customization feature in several applications, including:

    • FaceTime
    • QuickTime Player
    • iMovie
    • Other video conferencing apps

    How to Customize Your Background

To change your camera background on macOS, follow these steps:

    1. Open the Application: Launch FaceTime, QuickTime Player, or any other supported app.
    2. Access Camera Settings: Look for the camera settings icon, usually represented by a video camera or a screen with a person.

    3. Select Background Options:

      • Choose a gradient or an image from your Photos library.
      • You can also upload your own image.
    4. Apply Changes: Confirm your selection to see the new background in your video feed.

    Requirements for Background Customization

    • Built-in Camera: The feature works best with the built-in cameras of Mac devices, such as MacBooks and iMacs.
    • macOS Version: Ensure you are using a compatible version of macOS, such as Sequoia or later.

    Additional Features

In addition to background customization, macOS also offers other video effects, such as:

    • Center Stage: Keeps you in frame as you move.
    • Portrait Mode: Blurs the background for a more professional look.
    • Studio Light: Enhances your lighting during calls.
