Question

how to record only host and not active speaker

Hello, I'm trying to record a class, I would like my students to see me talking, but I do not want the recording to include the faces of talking students. Ideally I'd share the screen as well as the host video camera, but when others speak it would still show only me, or alternatively a black box where they are.

Is this an option, and if so how do I use it.

Hi @Nathaniel zed,

We’re glad to have you here. Welcome to Zoom Community!

You can control what appears in your Zoom meeting recording. To record only your (the host's) video and any shared screen, while excluding participant videos, enable the "Shared content only" recording layout in your cloud recording settings. This will capture only the shared screen or window and will not include participant videos, even if they speak during the session.

Make sure to adjust these settings before your class starts in your Zoom cloud recording options.
