How to record 2 cameras at the same time

I need to record a teacher at the front of a classroom and another session with a camera feed of a whiteboard. Each feed should occupy half of my screen. How can I do this?

I selected the "Gallery View" option and disabled "Record Active Participant." Now I can see the feeds from both cameras on my screen, almost 50% full, but the recording still only shows one of the two feeds.

    We’re glad to have you here, thank you for joining the community. To get a recording that shows both camera feeds at the same time (side-by-side / 50-50), you need to make sure you’re recording a layout that supports Gallery View in the recording output—not just on your screen.

     

    Do this:

    1. Confirm you’re using Local Recording (not Cloud Recording)
    • Cloud recordings often default to Active Speaker unless specific cloud recording layouts are enabled.
    • Local recording can capture Gallery View.
    1. Enable the correct recording layout (host setting)
    • In the Zoom web portal: Settings > Recording
    • Turn on the option to record Gallery View (and if you’ll be sharing content, enable Gallery view with shared screen).
    1. During the session
    • Make sure both camera participants have video ON (Zoom won’t produce a gallery-style recording if it doesn’t detect 2+ videos).
    • Switch to Gallery View before you start recording.
    • Start Record on this Computer.

    Important note about “half the screen”

    • Gallery view will typically show a grid. With exactly two video participants it will usually appear as two tiles, but the exact sizing can vary by client/version and window size. If you need a guaranteed 50/50 split every time, you may need to use a production workflow (e.g., put the two camera feeds into a single combined layout via a video switcher/OBS, then share/record that).
