How to keep side by side during the Zoom Call and when screen sharing 2 attendees video in corner

I want to start the meeting split among the 2 attendees including host.  Then when the interviewee screen shares I want us both to be video in the corner of the screen, not just 1 where it switches between whoever is talking.  I changed the settings so dual monitors is off and side by side is on.  Not sure why I can't achieve this. Thanks!
